- Wairarapa Balloon Festival - a packed five-day Easter programme with mostly free events and a spectacular Night Glow on Saturday 8 April.
- Blackwell and Sons' National Tweed Ride - dig out your finest tweed attire and cycle around Greytown's beautiful streets on Saturday afternoon, 8 April. It's a fabulous spectator sport as well.
- Molewood Orchard, Greytown. It's harvest season and you're welcome to bring a bag or bucket, and pick your own apples for only $2 per kg! Saturday 8 - Monday 10 April. Why not bring along a picnic lunch as well and make a day of it. Sunscreen, sturdy footwear and hats are good ideas too!
- Korero with Stan Walker at Carterton Events Centre - submit a question for Stan for his post-concert get together on Saturday 8 April.
- Easter Monday Chill Session at Gladstone Vineyard, Carterton. There will be live music, fine wines, fabulous Japanese cuisine on Monday 10 April, free entry from 11am.

Suellen’s sweet Christmas tradition
The festive season is always a great excuse to indulge your sweet tooth, and this time of year poses the perfect opportunity to bring a real showstopper to the Christmas table.
For Suellen’s family, that showstopper is Croquembouche, an impressive tower of cream puffs bound together with spun sugar that is popular at weddings in France and Italy.
What began as a birthday treat at a local French café has become a cherished Christmas tradition for Suellen and her 17-year-old twin granddaughters, Ellie and Sadie. Every year, the trio gather in Suellen’s apartment at William Sanders Village to cook this festive dessert - a holiday highlight they all treasure.
