You can grow peas again!

Mei Leng Wong Reporter from NZ Gardener & Get Growing

Dear neighbours, we're sharing the great news thatthe nearly four-year ban on pea plants and pea straw was lifted in February this year. Commercial and home gardeners can again grow pea plants and use pea straw as garden bedding material! Biosecurity New Zealand is confident that there are no pea weevils remaining in Wairarapa, and so New Zealand.

This makes it the perfect time to subscribe to our free ezine Get Growing. This week's issue has top tasks on making herbal teas; shoot to root thinking; recycling green waste in lockdown; seasonal sowing; and taking root cuttings. Plus we have a special feature on crocuses.. Check out this year's Resene Shed of the Year winners and enter to win lawn seed from Burnet's and an orchid from Gellert's.

Delivered every Friday to your email inbox, Get Growing digital magazine offers seasonal gardening advice from the NZ Gardener magazine's team of experts.
