There has been an incident reported to the Dunedin police that a young girl 11 years of age was approached by a pedophile on Elgin Rd around 4pm on Saturday. A Caucasian man between the ages of 60 to 70 years old followed this young girl along Elgin Rd after giving her a friendly wave from his vehicle 5 minutes beforehand. He pulled up along side her further down Elgin Rd and proceeded to ask her inappropriate questions such as 'How old are you? Where do you live? Do you have a boyfriend?' He asked her several times if she wanted a ride thankfully she was able to say 'NO' he also asked her more than once if she wanted to be his girlfriend!! He decided to drive away when 2 women walking their dogs headed towards the 2 of them. The mother and daughter who wish to remain anonymous are greatful for these 2 women who just happened to be in the right place at the right time!!! Car description, a dark green station wagon probably a 1995 to 2000 model. Caucasian man approximately 65 years of age wearing a brown or green cap with white trimming, a grey sweatshirt which also had white cord like trimming on it, and a tight collar, white short curly hair, a big red nose and red cheeks, quietly spoken with a deep raspy voice.
If anyone has seen or heard of this man, or if any other children have been approached by this man, I advise you to report it to the police. We need to catch him before someone else gets approached by him, or even worse someone gets hurt by him!!! KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE! It's so unfair that children can't feel safe on the streets when they are just trying to be exactly that a child 😢😭 Let's catch this guy and keep our streets safe for our children and our community!!!!
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
