PLASTIC BAGS
PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS I am tired of the “customer” getting blamed for those plastic shopping bags that many shops insist on “selling” to us. They are in “dreamland” if they think charging more and more that less will be going to the landfill. It is about time these shops looked at changing their plastic bags into a more environmentally friendly bag. What is wrong with the brown paper bags with twine handles that saw in Asia? These plastic shopping bags are the least of my worry, they are insignificant against everything I buy being in a non – recyclable plastic bag, wrap or tray. I take my usable bags shopping – and yet I still end up with piles of plastic that will go to the landfill. I wish I could charge them for fruit and veggie bags, frozen goods plastic bags, bread bags, meat trays, and endless plastic wrap etc. I hope I am not the only one who wants the suppliers and the shops to be far more responsible.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
