WATSON-ARCHER, Eva Lillian

Eva passed away peacefully at Cranford Hospice on 17 April 2023, aged 74. She was surrounded by the love of her husband Gavin Archer, her daughter Jo Beecroft, son-in-law Kerry Beecroft of Havelock North, and her son Andrew Watson of Tauranga. Loved Grannie of Josh and Jeremy Beecroft, Dharma and Shaia Watson. Cherished and loved sister of Ron Crooks (Ak), Catrene Romano (ChCh), Absie Crook (LH), Connie Olsen (LH), Violet Dawe (Aust), Richard Crook (HN), Norma Scorringe (Ak), Roslyn Sammons (HN), Terry Crook (Aust), Gary Crook (LH), Bill, Neville, Victor and Tracy Crook and Hazel Stratton (deceased), their spouses and partners. Remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. The family extends thanks and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Cranford Hospice at Hastings, who gave incredible and sensitive care to Eva. Peacefully at Te Hopai Home, on 14th April 2023, in her 82nd year. Adored and very much loved mother and mother-in-law of Nige and Chris, Cam and Debi, Deb and Ross. Treasured nana of Hamish, Stuart, Aimee, Aonghus, Jonty, Brody, Geena and Topaz. Loved great-grandmother; ‘Nana Wend’ to Harlo, River and Weylyn, and ‘Nan-nan’ to Prue. Beloved Aunty Wend to all the Prices. A dearest friend to all that have gone before her and those still here. A celebration of Wend’s life will be held at the Lychgate Funerals Chapel, cnr Willis and Aro Streets, Wellington, at 10.30am on Friday 21st April, followed by a private cremation. Passed away peacefully at Hilda Ross, Hamilton, on 16 April 2023, aged 90 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Leslie. Loved daughter of the late Hugh and Jean McDonald. Loved sister and sister-in-law to Fin and Margaret McDonald and the late Marie Warren. Loved Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. A service for Clara will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, on Friday, 21 April 2023 at 10.30am, followed by private cremation. Paddy died peacefully at Christchurch Hospital surrounded by family on Monday. Dearly loved wife of the late Peter; sister and sister-in-law of the late John and his wife Pippa; much loved mother and mother-in-law of Jonathan and Jane, Libby and Andrew, Chris and Michelle, and the late Stephen; cherished grandma of Lily and her husband Mark, Duncan and his partner Hannah, Rebecca and her partner Mark, Sarah and her partner Will, and Sam; and great-grandmother of Oliver, Oscar, and Thea. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Christchurch Hospital ED and Ward 14, and to friends and staff at Nazareth House. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Christchurch City Mission in Paddy’s memory. A memorial service will be held at Christchurch Transitional Cathedral this Friday morning, April 21, at 10.30am.

Passed away surrounded by her family and now resting peacefully, aged 91. Beloved wife of the late David. Loved mother of Christopher, Jane, Dee and Sarah, and mother-in-law of Joanne, Anthony, Ross and John. Special Grandmother and great-Grandmother to Emma and Nichola, Sam, Kat, Ruby and Zoe, Jacob and Beth, George and Chloe, and Charlotte and Cam, Jane and Olivia, Philippa, Tony, Aimee, Megan and Joshua, and Peter and Miranda. Sadly Graeme left us on 15 April 2023, aged 84 years young. He was the most dearly loved husband and best friend of Joyce, much loved father and father-in-law of Linda & Charles Fraser, Melanie & Pat Belcher, Brett & Kerri, Granddad of Gabe & Milly and friend of Shaun. Also, a much loved member of the Shiel family. We would like to thank the medical and nursing team at Mapu, Wards 5 & 6 and Justine at Wellington Hospital. Also Te Omanga Hospice for their outstanding care of Graeme during his recent short illness. A funeral service will be held in Cornwall Manor, cnr of Knights Rd & Cornwall St, Lower Hutt, on Friday 21 April 2023 at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to Te Omanga Hospice would be much appreciated.

Passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023, aged 80 years. Dearly loved husband of Gay, in their 53rd year of marriage. Father of Rewa, Emma and Henry. Grandfather of Molly, Finn, Bailin, Roulie, Chance and Indigo. Loved brother of Haley, Martin, Victor, Julie and Edward. Brother-in-law of Heather, Brian, Richard and Elizabeth. Thanks to the staff at Avonlea for treating David as family, and to the doctors and nurses who have cared for David. He played his best game right to the end and will be remembered as a sportsman and exceptional Architect. Messages to the family of David Epstein, c/- Akaroa i-SITE, 61 Beach Road, Akaroa 7520. A private cremation has been held. David’s memorial celebration will be held in Akaroa and Sydney at a later date.
