HUGHES, Jackson Francis (Jack)

Resident of Awatere Care Suites, Berescourt, Hamilton. Jack passed away peacefully on 13 June 2023, at home in his sleep on the eve of his 93rd birthday. Dearly loved husband of Pat (R.I.P.) for almost 60 years. Father and father-in law of Derek and Diana, David (R.I.P.) and Barbara, John, Elizabeth, Gerard and Jo, and Sue O’Driscoll. Loving grandad of Nicholas and Caitlin, Mitchell and Lauren, Holly and Daisy, Bolly and Patrick, Christiane and Nic, Alex and Jonathan, Georgie and Guy, and Sophie. Great-grandfather of Raffie, Violet, Nixon, Lola, Cooper and Jagger. Other beloved families in Jack’s life, the Hanleys (Ireland), the Fitzmaurices, the Newtons, and Rowan and her family. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. The family makes a special acknowledgement of the aroha and care Jack received from Awatere staff during his time with them.
