RITCHIE, Garth McVane

Garth passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023, aged 90 years, at the Wyndham Rest Home. Garth is the only son of Bryce* and Amelia* Ritchie and brother to Merle and Rod* Bruce. Garth is the beloved father and father-in-law to Gail and Greg Poole, Raymond and Debbie Ritchie, Jannette and James Cochrane, and Maria and Bazil Ferreira. Granddad of 15 and Great-Granddad of 19. As per his wishes, a private cremation has already been held in Invercargill. To celebrate Garth’s life, a service will be held at the Bannockburn Hall on Friday, May 26, at 1.00pm, followed by afternoon tea, drinks and yarns at the Bannockburn Bowling Club. Garth will be laid to rest in the Nevis Cemetery in the Nevis Valley on Saturday, May 27 at 11.00am, where we can have a wee nip for his birthday and say our final farewells. We know Garth will be enjoying a few whiskeys, lawn bowls and duck shooting with all his good mates who have already passed before him.
