RSA Service No. 820276. Aged 88 years. It is with great sadness we announce that Ian passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Bainswood on Victoria, Rangiora. Beloved husband of Pat for 63 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Julie and the late Shawn, Murray and Debbie, and cherished grandad to Henry, Jack, Brittany and Millie. Loved son of the late Hugh and Flora Sail, and brother and brother-in-law to the late Noel and June, the late Ray and Lil, the late Alister and Betty, and the late Barry and Lynn. Loved brother-in-law to the late Ken and Linore, Bill and Marilyn, the late Geoffrey, Christopher and Michelle, and Christine and Kevin. A special uncle to all his nieces and nephews. A great friend to many. Ian’s family wish to send their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff and caregivers at Bainswood on Victoria, and the doctors and team at Southside Health for the compassionate care of Ian. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St John’s in Ian’s name would be appreciated. In accordance with Ian’s wishes, a private celebration of his life has been held.
