WAKEFIELD, Timothy David

Tim passed away quickly but peacefully, in ICU at Timaru Hospital, aged 76 years. He is a greatly loved dad, grandfather and best friend, and is so deeply missed by his family; Kim, Jamie, Madison, Alex, and Lewis Sugrue (Timaru); Penny, Steve, Ben, and Cassie Compton (Timaru); Andy, Juliana, and Gabriel Wakefield (Adelaide); and Jo Wakefield (Timaru). Tim was the eldest son of Harry and Natalie Wakefield (both dec, from Picton), and dearly loved brother of Judy Frazer (Picton), Andrew Wakefield (dec) and Jeremy Wakefield (Nelson). He was a much loved brother-in-law, and uncle of his nieces and nephews. Dad was a proud Perano, an avid fisherman, a teacher, a drinker of flat whites in a tulip cup with one sugar, and an enthusiastic reader of books while taking an afternoon ‘zizz’ on the couch. Dad enjoyed living out at Rangitata Huts, and will be missed by his friend Kathy and his fishing mates.

A funeral service for Tim will be held at Sacred Heart Basilica, Craigie Avenue, Timaru, on Friday, April 28, at 1.00pm, thereafter private cremation. Tim was passionate about his work with the McKinnon’s Creek Salmon Hatchery, donations to this organisation would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
