BLACKBOX PORTABLE WASTE DISPOSAL SYSTEM

Tim from STOREIT4LESS

The BlackBox portable waste station is a portable all-in-one waste disposal solution. It comes with a commercial grade portable wastewater tank and an automated pump system.

BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station – Disposal Solution
The BLACKBOX portable waste station is the perfect waste disposal solution for portable cabins, portable offices, and for recreational vehicles used as an additional semi-permanent dwelling. It is the best solution in build quality, reliability and cost currently available, to move waste water from a portable building to a suitable drain located on a suburban or rural property, building site, holiday batch etc.

BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station – Performance
The BLACKBOX will pump fluids up to 100 metre distance and to a height of 8 metres with no difficulty. As the pump has a flow diameter of 40mm, it is recommended that 40mm alkathene pipe of 40mm pressure pipe is connected to the outlet bar. Note: using 50mm gauge pipe will add no advantage to the system. Likewise, using 32mm gauge pipe and fittings can be used to save some upfront cost on an installation, but this will impact on the life of the pump.

BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station versus a Macerator pump system
Macerator Pump System
A macerator pump uses a spinning blade to mince up/reduce the size of particulates within the fluid that enters thought the macerator’s inlet. A pump then pumps out the fluid together with the macerated particulates. There are a number of macerator systems available on the market, ranging from $300 to $2000 plus in price. The price of each system (in most cases) is relative to the quality of the system. It is not uncommon for the cheaper units to fail within the first few weeks of installation.

Advantages of a macerator system
[1] A small diameter outlet pipe and fittings can be used to disperse the pumped fluid
[2] A macerator systems can be installed internally within a premises (i.e. directly behind a toilet bowl/cistern)

Disadvantages of a macerator system
[1] A macerator system utilises a spinning blade to mince up the size of particulates. The blades are made of differing materials (plastic, brass and stainless steel). The blades in high end macerator systems have been known to fail within a two year time from installation, whilest blades in cheap macerator systems are known to fail within 2 weeks of installation.
[2] Some macerator systems rely on a vacuum system to trigger the pump into action. This requires accurate installation. Should a vacuum seal fail, the pump will not activate.
[3] Domestic Macerator systems are prone to clogging up. The main user of a toilet with a macerator system may exercise care with regard to what items are flushed down a toilet bowel. However, guests and other family member may not exercise the same level of care. A thick wad of toilet paper, wet wipe, paper hand towel, and tampon are some common items that can cause a macerator system to fail.
[4] Reputable manufacturers of domestic Macerator systems generally claim a pump capacity of maximum of 50 metres maximum distance and a head height maximum of 4 metres. Some chinese manufacturers of cheap systems claim higher performance levels based on a maximum output over a short test period of time, and without regard for stress on pump components and/or the life of the pump.
[4] Warranty’s on most macerator systems are voided if a macerator system is installed to the exterior of a building. A couple of macerator systems are made specifically for exterior installation. However, these systems require precise installation to retain their warranty and ensure non failure.
[5] Warranty’s range from 3 month to a maximum of 2 years.

BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station
A BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station is installed on the outside of a building or recreational vehicle. Grey/waste water from the kitchen and bathroom, and effluent from a toilet bowl drain into the BLACKBOX 62 litre holding tank. Wihin the holding tank is a large capacity centrifugal pump (750Watt with a 15,000 litres per hour flow rate) with a built in float switch. When the level of the fluid in the holding tank reaches a certain level, a float activates/turns on the pump. The pump sucks up and pumps out the grey/waste water and effluent through a 40mm diameter port and 40mm diameter outlet bar to a drain on the property. When the fluid in the holding tank drops to a certain level, the float switch drops and deactivates/turns off the pump.

Advantages of a BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station
[1] A BLACKBOX portable waste system has no moving parts i.e. no moving parts to clog-up or break
[2] The design of the BLACKBOX portable waste system ensures low/minimal stress on all components, ensuring that this product gives owners problem free service, and a long operational life
[3] The BLACKBOX portable waste system is manufactured in New Zealand from highest quality components
[4] Installation of the BLACKBOX portable waste system is simple, with no professional help required (e.g. by a plumber) . Connection parts between the BLACKBOX and a building outflow pipe are readily available from Bunnings, Mitre 10 or Placemakers for minimal cost.
[5] The BLACKBOX portable waste system comes with a robust warranty. The warranty comes in three parts:
a) Submersible centrifugal pump warranty – this is a return to base warranty of 24 months
b) Polyethylene black holding tank warranty – this is a return to base warranty of 20 years
c) Satisfaction warranty – this is a no questions asked 30 Day Money Back Guarantee
These warranty’s provide peace of mind with a quality system that has been manufactured to last.

Disadvantage of a BLACKBOX Portable Waste Station
[1] A BLACKBOX portable waste system is not designed to be installed within the inside of a building/dwelling
