Empowering and developing young people for the future of our community
LVYT has been working in the Riccarton Community for over 10 years. As well as employing five 24-7 youth workers in two local schools, we run a breakfast club 5 days a week and an after school programme. Our heart is to provide a safe environment for children who may otherwise be wandering the street after school until their caregivers return home, or who may be turning up to school without breakfast, as well as supporting students within the school environment over and above what their amazing teachers are able to do. We firmly believe that by supporting young people and their families we can create a stronger community that will thrive in the future. We are at a key stage in developing our future strategic objectives, and this grant would contribute to our ongoing programmes as well as enabling us to look towards future opportunities.
