'Emotional' reunion as new Christchurch Hospital helipad gets test run
Kate Murney doesn’t remember anything from the first time she was flown to Christchurch Hospital, but she won’t forget the second time.
The 67-year-old mother of three was rushed to hospital in December 2013 with acute septicemia, a serious blood infection. Her family was told she wasn’t going to make it, but miraculously, she survived.
She returned to Christchurch Hospital on Thursday to visit the new helipad atop the new Hagley Acute Services building and to thank those who saved her life.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
