Canterbury Park development scheduled for next month!
There is some rather major development happening down at our park, starting next month and lasting an estimated 8 months. I may have missed it, but this sign down at the park is the first I have heard of it. Initial impression is that it is positive, anything to improve the water quality is a good thing, however it fails to address the main cause, the toxic storm water runoff into Haytons Stream.
There will be a large dry storage basin constructed, similar to those off Awatea Drive by the new Wigram sub-division. The pond will be enlarged, increasing the wetland area, though I imagine the water quality will still be to toxic for dogs etc to swim in. What do you think?
