SRA AGM & Improving Bus Services Discussion
SRA looks forward to it's 5th AGM on Monday 10th September at Somerfield Community Centre at 7.30pm.
We welcome anyone to join us for the AGM or for our Improving Bus Services discussion following the brief AGM Meeting.
For the AGM - Nominations will be welcome for these SRA Roles:
SRA Chairperson
SRA Deputy Chairperson
SRA Treasurer
SRA Secretary
SRA Committee Members
'Friends' of the SRA Committee
If anyone is interested to learn more about these roles or wishes to nominate themselves - please let me know in advance or surprise us at the meeting!!
We will have Guest speakers from ECAN & Bus Go Canterbury attending to help clarify any concerns or questions from residents.
The Canterbury Regional Public Transport Plan consultation process will be explained further & hopefully encourage some proactive submissions & other options which may assist for Somerfield to have a bus route /service reinstated back into our area or into other areas which are also lacking adequate services.
We look forward to seeing you at our meeting & this will offer links to other meetings which Bus Go Canterbury already have been organising or we may decide to organise a future community meeting to assist further progress.
Please find attached: Re: Our SRA AGM Flyer & the Bus services topic of our meeting which complements the Somerfield area Bus petition well supported by local resident Peter Collins (as pictured) & many others in our community.
Also attached is just one proposed New Hospital based bus route -which would include the main streets of Somerfield also- you may have alternative ideas / routes you would like to see better covered??
Please bring any questions, concerns or proposals to our meeting!!
Please also feel free to share our Facebook / Neighbourly event page on to anyone else- anyone is most welcome to join us on Monday evening!
Warm regards
Julie Tobbell.
