Great news for all digital upskillers: you can gain computer skills for work, study and everyday life - for free and at your own pace - at Ara Connect!
We’ve got courses in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a Certificate in Computing, plus you can learn how to touch-type, use the internet, create a website and lots more.
There are Ara Connect locations throughout Christchurch, Timaru and Oamaru. We’re open Monday to Friday, and some locations are open Saturdays and weekends too, so you can fit your studies around work, family and other commitments.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
