There are three simple reasons
1. They use lots less power than other downlights for the same amount of light
2. They are available in sealed units which means all that heat from your heat pump or fire doesn’t sneak into the ceiling through the gaps in the downlight
3. You can cover them in ceiling insulation quite safely if they are designed for this and they run at much cooler temperatures, which keeps the house much warmer

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
