Centaurus Combined Probus

Retirees! Are you feeling lonely and isolated? Do you find that the phone doesn’t ring, there are no texts or emails? How about joining your local Probus Club. The Centaurus Combined Probus Club offers the opportunity for men and women to meet new people and try new experiences. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at the Cashmere Club, 50 Colombo Street, at 2:00pm. This month the meeting is Tuesday 3rd Sept. You do not need to be a Cashmere Club member to attend. The Centaurus group has members from Redcliffs to Halswell as well as from across town.

New members are very welcome. Just show up! The meetings start promptly at 2pm so best to arrive 15-20 mins beforehand. The first 3 visits are free. If you would like to become a member, the year's subscription is $30.00. Afternoon tea is $2.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
