Volunteer Puppy Raisers
We are again looking for individuals/families living in Christchurch to help our puppies grow up to become life-changing Assistance Dogs. Our next pups are coming mid July.
Puppy raisers are an integral part of our organisation. Their job is an amazing one: to support our little ones on their journey towards becoming superheroes!
To become a puppy-raiser, you must:
- Have a fully fenced and secure property
- Have time to spend socialising and exercising your puppy.
- Be available to meet for puppy development training.
Our puppies stay with their raiser until they are about 16-18 months of age, then return to Assistance Dogs to be formally trained for their future roles. We cover the cost of feeding and vet care, and there is a supervisor available for all of our dogs.
