Welcome to Whareora Community House

Jane Hill from Whareora Community House - Barrington

Hello everyone and welcome to Whareora Community House, near Barrington Mall.

We offer a friendly and safe environment to meet other people, with an Activities Programme including Groups, Lunches and Bus trips, and a Book and Puzzle Library. There are no Membership Fees and everyone is welcome to attend. Visit the House for details - the office is attended Tues-Thurs 10.00am-1pm or call Jane on 03 337 2731 or email: office.whareora@gmail.com.

Our updated Opportunity Shop (Clothes and Accessories) is open on weekdays 10.00am-1pm. And from 1 October 2022 we will also be open on Saturday mornings, 10.00am-1pm.

In addition, we have a Comfortable Lounge Room with Kitchen and tables/chairs for hire at affordable rates. This would suit coffee circles, activity groups, small choirs, meetings etc.

Come in and see us - you will be sure to receive a warm welcome.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
