Harewood speed changes
Good news for the North West community
The Community Board advocated to council, to reduce the speed east of Johns Road along Harewood Road to 50km/h.
Advice from traffic engineers was the 70km/h should be 60km/h but the number of community requests to reduce this to 50km/h was significant during the engagement process. Harewood School principal Julie Greenwood and students made deputations to the board as well. It is worth noting that the Harewood Playcentre start and finishing times are different to the school, and there is a new cycle underpass nearby that goes under Johns Road.
Council decided that due to the divergence from staff advice, that the speed limit along stretch of road will be reviewed in 6 months and reported back to the board.
*Please note there are other speed changes being made in the wider area
In Yaldhurst- Guys, Savills, Ryans and Coringa Road
Harewood- Harewood Road, Waimakariri and Sawyers Arms Road
Harewood- Gardiners & Styx Mill as well as Hussey Road

WANTED - Hat Blocks & Hat Making Equipment PLEASE..
Can anyone help.. My daughter is interested in starting to attempt to make hats as a hobby.
I was wondering if anyone might have any old wooden hat blocks (similar to the one pictured) or any old hat making tools or equipment that they no longer use and would like them to go to a good home.
Happy to pay for these.
