Do you think the best site has been chosen for the new Linwood pool?
A new $21 million pool will be built on the corner of Smith St and Linwood Ave. The site, which used to house a council nursery and was already council-owned, was the option most favoured by the community. Almost 90 per cent of the 487 submissions favoured it.
Community leaders have been calling for a pool in the Linwood/Woolston area since before the earthquakes, but some city councillors have questioned the cost of the facility.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
