Justice of the peace (JP) service at Citizens Advice branches in Christchurch

The Team from Citizens Advice Christchurch Area

We have JPs at our New Brighton and Hornby branches as follows:
New Brighton - 133 Brighton Mall (entrance on Union Street, SBA office) - 03 366 6490
- Wednesday 10.30-11.30

Hornby community centre (8 Goulding Avenue) – 03 349 5236
– Monday - 9.30-12.30
- Thursday - 9.30-12.30

All are a Drop in service – you might want to give us a call on the day to check it is running

Here are some tips to help you get your paperwork right when you visit with a JP:
- If you want to certify a true copy, have the original document and the copy with you.
- If certifying transcripts printed from the internet or email attachments, the JP will need to see the original website or email on your computer or cell phone (or our office computer).
- If you are certifying a text message, the JP will need to see the whole message on your computer or cell phone.
- If certifying documents for banks or financial institutions, need a declaration or you need an affidavit, the JP needs to see the person named in the document and their photo ID e.g. Passport, Drivers licence or 18+ card.

If these times aren't convenient then check out under 'Read More' for timings at local libraries

Poll: What should happen to the cathedral?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In August, restoration of the Christ Church Cathedral was put on hold. Church leaders have no idea when work might restart.

Last year, the Government declined to provide further funding beyond $25 million, and the church, who had raised $24m in donations and contributed $49m including insurance, said further public support will be required to find the revenue required.

What do you think the next steps should be for the cathedral?

Poll: Would you use a pet cemetery?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Dave Stephens has created a pet cemetery on his land.

The 10-acre site in Albany, Auckland, features graves nestled among beautifully manicured gardens and unique art pieces, offering a serene space where visitors can pay their respects in their own way.

Is a local pet cemetery something you think you would use? Share your thoughts below.
