Ant issues? Cheap, organic & pet friendly remedy.
Hi all,
I have a major problem with ants around my home & noticed that a lot of areas in Christchurch do as well so I searched online the other day for a remedy that was cheap & safe for pets so I can leave it around without worrying I have spent quite a lot of money on baits, sprays etc but they always come back & this lady says she no longer has them so I thought I would try it & share here for others if they wanted to give it a go along with me.
I hung 4 banana skins on the washing line to dry so the ants couldn't get to them first lol (& perfect weather for it now) it worked they have been up for 4 days & dried out now so I put them through my nutri bullet to blend into powder & laid this across the tracks the ants follow to their nests they were a bit stand offish to start but they are going for gold now, I will update as soon as I see the results hopefully in the next few days-week? but thought I would pop it on here if others want to give it a go now as well.

ANTS! Whenever I have a problem with ants, I use an organic method I learned about. I dry banana peels all year round and then I crush in my mortar and pestle. I imagine you could put some in the blender if necessary. The banana will turn dark brown or blackish and provide you with a nice powder if you have a means of turning it into a powder. The ants will carry it off as they do just about everything and take it to the nest. The nest will die out. You see, the banana is high in potassium and ants can't tolerate potassium. It will kill them. It's a safe method if you have pets and small children around. No need for pesticides and just put it around the house and doors and they won't give you any problems. I've done this for years and it works. I don't have ants anymore but I used to get them every year. Drove me nuts.
