The Zonta Club of Waimakariri is joining with another Christchurch Zonta Club to raise much needed funds for the Canterbury Zonta Tertiary Education Trust, which provides scholarships for women returning to the workforce. The original monies were raised for the Trust by the first Celebrity Debates held in Christchurch at the Town Hall many years ago, and these now need topping up. Did you hear a "sonic boom" and see an object flying across the Canterbury sky? Many residents witnessed a suspected meteor this week.
The burning rock was at least the size of a fist – much larger than what astronomers usually see above New Zealand. Usually the objects are about the size of a grain of sand.
The arrival of a meteor can be impressive, with even something pebble-sized lighting up in the sky, Canterbury Astronomical Society president Euan Mason says.

As the little ones prefer being together in one room she is looking for a 2-3brm home. Fully fenced is a must, as is heating (warm/dry) and a bath. Long term lease preferred.
