Health board raises concerns over Christchurch Hospital service failure risk

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from The Press

A two-year delay by the Ministry of Health to develop facilities at Christchurch Hospital has created a risk of service failure, Canterbury District Health Board members say.

The board noted quake-related repairs had not been undertaken and when the acute services building opens in September 2019, Canterbury will be left with both a bed and theatre shortage.

What's your favourite tomato recipe?

Mei Leng Wong Reporter from NZ Gardener & Get Growing

Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.

Cats Still Missing - NEW TO AREA - Please keep sharing

Dowana from Northcote

Please help us find Sid and Dizzy. Missing since 10th November around Leander Street, Northcote. They snuck away after a stressful move into town, and so will likely be confused and a bit timid.
If found please contact Barbara Johnstone on 027 441 5594
We are particularly worried about Dizzy (black & white) he is older mainly a house cat and is VERY deaf : there were possible sightings of him on Joiners Ln (near Vagues Rd) not long after they went missing, but he's not been spotted since.

Please keep a look out for him. Thanks to everyone for your support.
