Our Trafford Street Liquor Store action was successful and stimulated developments
Hi folks,
Our joint (successful) action has helped propel fresh initiatives which will assist neighbourhoods resist the scourge of Liquor Stores "invading" our communities in future. The news snippet below highlights certain progress on this matter:
www.tvnz.co.nz...
It was often said during our campaign that we could never successfully fight through a process which was deeply flawed - but they didn't reckon on a co-ordinated and determined group like the Harewood residents!
We proved an involved community can succeed BUT it wasn't easy and communities need access to resources to fight the wealthy liquor industry.
There is no doubt our efforts resonated and we need these initiatives for Community Law involvement to work and be cemented into place.
Thanks folks for all the support - we are in this together.
Kind regards

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
