St Andrew's College students Ella Clearwater, Marshall Setu and Manaia Butler, all 16, are organising the March for Love event on Saturday at North Hagley Park.
Rolleston Ave would close so the group could march from North Hagley Park to the flowers outside the botanic gardens. The march will start at 10am.
Scott Esdaile is organising another event called Remember Those Who Lost Their Lives 15-3-19 on Sunday from 5pm to 7pm, also at North Hagley Park.
The event was originally planned for Tuesday in Cathedral Square but it was postponed until Thursday, then again until Saturday, out of respect for the Muslim community.
A Service of Prayer and Hope is being held at 6pm tonight in Latimer Square. Everyone is welcome to this inter-church, non-denominational event. Find out more on Newsline.

I have chosen to do this at our Mike Pero stand at the Oxford A & P Show on Saturday 30th March. Along with my colleague Michelle, we will have a guess the number of Easter eggs in a jar competition. Entries will be just a gold coin donation and the winner will take home the jar of eggs. Additional prizes would also be welcome so that a raffle can also be performed to raise additional funds. Public transport is free from 7am-2pm on Saturday and after 2pm on Sunday. Services will run to usual weekend timetables, please allow extra time for your journey.
