Want to publicly ‘dunk’ Carterton Mayor Ron Mark? What’s it worth? Bid on our TradeMe auction and the pleasure could be all yours. The public dunking will take place at the Carterton Daffodil Festival on Sunday 10 September.

Thanks so much to good-sport Ron Mark for offering himself up for this good cause. All proceeds will be going to the Carterton Indoor Pool Building Replacement Project.

Please help save our local pool, which serves so many - old and young - in Carterton and South Wairarapa. It’s the only all-year-round community pool in Wairarapa outside of Masterton.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
