Dainty blue Climber.....Asarina

Joan from Masterton District

This dainty blue climber is not invasive and throughout the Summer produces masses of purple/blue thumb sized flowers. It grows in hanging baskets well too. It needs something to climb up like a verandah post or trellis or along a wire or it can sprawl out of a basket or pedestal pot.
I first saw it many years ago a mass of blue flowers up the post of a verandah and was very taken with it. I have one climbing up a Palm tree.

Strictly speaking it is an annual but I have the same plants coming away again in the Spring for 2 or 3 years in a row. It does seed with little plants but I've never found it a problem. I usually prick them out and grow them on.

Thanks for looking. Pickup is in Kuripuni.

The plant for sale is the one in the square black pot. ( the last photo)

Price: $10

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
