Roads closed in Otago as heavy rain causes flooding
The Clutha River in Otago is at its highest level in nearly 20 years after heavy rain closed roads and caused flooding around the region. Several highways remain closed in Otago on Wednesday, but weather conditions are easing across the country.
Road closures are in place for SH8 from Milton to Alexandra, SH90 from Raes Junction to Tapanui and at the Pomahaka Bridge, and SH87 from Kyeburn to Hyde. State Highway 1 from Milton to Balclutha is open, but is under stop/go management Anyone using the road is urged to take extreme care. Read more
