Severe weather watch - strong winds
A strong moist northwesterly flow is expected to spread over the South Island and lower North Island from Friday night through Saturday. People are advised to stay up to date with the latest forecasts in case part of this Watch is upgraded to a Warning or further areas are added.
Area: Southern Fiordland, Southland, Clutha, Southern Lakes, Central Otago, and Dunedin
Valid: 17 hours from 6:00pm Friday to 11:00am Saturday
Forecast: Northwest winds may approach severe gale at times.
