Be bowled over by lawn bowls!
The perception of lawn bowls being a sport for old people is a fallacy. More young people are playing the sport at all levels than ever before. Why? Well lawn bowls is a very social sport, easy to learn, low cost, inclusive and above all great fun.
Bowls is truly a sport that anyone can play on equal terms regardless of age, gender or physical ability and with clubs throughout Auckland running social bowling events through summer there is no excuse for you not to get out into summer and have a go!

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
