Looking for Carer/Support worker to help care for 12 year old girl

Debra from Forrest Hill

We are looking for a person to help our family and split the shifts with a student we have currently.

We live in Forrest Hill and have 12 year old twin girls, one has Spastic Dystonic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. She is in a wheelchair and needs help with transfers and other personal cares. She is a happy girl, always trying to do everything herself and has a great sense of humor. Our other daughter is an energetic girl that loves to play sports.

We are looking for someone to share the role with our current student/carer and do around 12.5 hours a week (half of the 25hours a week role). You would split the shifts on school day mornings, which is from 7-9am where you would help with dressing, feeding, getting her ready for school and some help around the home. Also you would split the afternoon shifts, which are from 3:30pm - 6:30pm doing some physical activities and exercises, read, play, feed, showering and general help.

Please contact me for further information on 021 412 633. Thanks

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
