Best organic eggs you can get (laid right here) in Auckland!
Kia ora Neighbourly whānau! We're spreading the word about our newest subscription addition to the farm: organic free range eggs.
Laid with love by our new layer hens right here at Kelmarna Community Farm.
Our hens range on our pasture and under our trees. They’re fed organically from a mix of brought-in-feed, greens that are grown & foraged on site and food rescued from the community. We’re proud to be able to offer nutritious eggs from hens with a great quality of life & hope that you can enjoy them too!
This is a weekly pick-up subscription using the CSA model.
Summer subscriptions start on Wednesday the 17th of January, and the season finishes on Wednesday the 28th of February.
Our season is a little shorter than usual due to only getting our new hens in December 2023.
You can choose a share of either one dozen eggs OR half a dozen eggs per week. Your eggs will be available for collection at Kelmarna from 11am each Wednesday. They will be available for collection all week, at any time that suits you as they will be stored in an outdoor collection box. Please bring your own egg carton to collect your eggs.
If you're not sure what we mean by CSA: it stands for Community Supported Agriculture. We ask for a payment upfront in exchange for a fresh portion of a dozen eggs each week during this season.
(This may vary from time-to-time due to extreme weather, hen illness or other production factors despite our best efforts.)
It is a partnership-based farming model that provides essential community and financial support for us to plan ahead and produce food for you, with the accepted risk & rewards that each season may offer.
We're super excited to be able to offer some of the most local, organic eggs in Tāmaki Makaurau. These are also available to buy as you like from our Farm Shop which is open Wednesdays & Saturdays 9-12pm - please BYO egg carton.
Please follow the link below to find out more, or if you're clucking to sign up right away email: csa@kelmarna.co.nz
Live Q&A: Garden maintenance with Crewcut
This Wednesday, we're having another Neighbourly Q&A session. This time with John Bracewell from Crewcut.
John Bracewell, former Black Caps coach turned Franchisee Development Manager and currently the face of Crewcut’s #Movember campaign, knows a thing or two about keeping the grass looking sharp—whether it’s on a cricket pitch or in your backyard!
As a seasoned Crewcut franchisee, John is excited to answer your lawn and gardening questions. After years of perfecting the greens on the field, he's ready to share tips on how to knock your garden out of the park. Let's just say he’s as passionate about lush lawns as he is about a good game of cricket!
John is happy to answer questions about lawn mowing, tree/hedge trimming, tidying your garden, ride on mowing, you name it! He'll be online on Wednesday, 27th of November to answer them all.
