Only YOU Can Make Your Dreams Reality!

Anthea Chiappa from Lifestyle Happy Place

Hoping and wishing wont help you to achieve your dreams. Taking action toward that dream WILL!

It's funny I say that now but at the time when I was reaching for my dream of being a home owner ๐Ÿ , the mortgage broker๐Ÿค‘ told me how much I would need to get the deposit and then how much it would cost ๐Ÿ’ณfor the mortgage. I was scared, excited, worried that it would be a struggle BUT I did it anyway even without the total support of my partner. You see, I had to sell my car๐Ÿš—, use all my savings๐Ÿ’ต, ask our father n law (bless him)๐Ÿ™ if he could please make up the difference and we will live on the bones of our butt๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ for as long as it takes. Well it felt like eternity because interest rates were crazy mad mega high at 11% home loan rates back then. BUT We did it!!!

And 13 years later and at 42, I live in a coastal town, with my same partner and now husband and 2x kids in a house with a pool Mortgage free!!!๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ฅ.

The decisions you make today can be the solution that sets you free in the future๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘Œ.

My next goal is financial freedom!
What will help you to reach your dreams?๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘”๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿ›ณ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’ฐ

What workplace change would you like to see most?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

This coming Monday is Labour Day in New Zealand. This public holiday marks when the eight-hour workday and 48-hour workweek became law in 1899. The idea started with Samuel Parnell, a carpenter in Wellington, who in 1840 refused to work more than eight hours a day. Since skilled workers were in short supply, his employer had to agree.

As more skilled workers arrived, employers tried to change working conditions, but Parnell and others kept pushing for better rights. In 1890, Parnell led a Labour Day parade of 1,500 people to promote the eight-hour day. He passed away shortly after, and nine years later, Labour Day became an official public holiday.

Do you feel that we have reached the ideal in working environments yet? What rights are you passionate about relating to employment? Share your thoughts!
