Record number apply to become guide dog puppy trainers after appeal
An organisation which trains and provides guide dogs for vision impaired New Zealanders has received a "record" number of applicants seeking to temporarily house new puppies.
On Wednesday, Stuff reported that guide dog charity Blind Low Vision NZ needed homes for 40 puppies in the next three months, with only 10 homes being confirmed.
The impacts of Covid-19 and the cost of living crisis had affected both staffing and volunteer numbers, said Rochelle Corrigan, puppy placement and development manager.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
