The transition from kindergarten to school can be a challenging experience

Gardner Road Kindergarten

At Gardner Road Kindergarten, we want your child to have fun and get them ready to become a confident and competent learner during their school years.

Our “Transition to school programme” helps to make this journey as smooth as possible.

It provides a variety of experiences for your child, so they can learn to make sense of their world.

It is important that children embrace new challenges, learn to
co-operate with each other and set goals for themselves.

"All activities allow me to develop my curiosity, my imagination and through my enjoyment, my concentration. Talk to me about them and my language will grow too."

Come and see our programme in action.

Kaitiakitanga (Guardianship and Stewardship) - Day 17

Kiran Reddy from Mount Eden

Tāne’s Gift of the Forest

Tāne planted the great forests and entrusted their care to humankind, warnihonoringto take only what was needed and to replenish what was used.

He sent the birds to teach people balance, showing them how each creature contributed to the wellbeing of the environment.

When people acted as kaitiaki (guardians), the land thrived; when they were careless, the land suffered.

Moral: Guardianship of the land ensures that future generations can thrive, honoring the gifts of nature.
