
Forrest Hill intensification changes: Auckland Concil feedback now open
The Auckland Council has opened formal submissions to the zoning changes that the government has imposed, known as "Plan Change 78". These zoning changes will remove the need to apply for resource consent when building up to six-storey apartment buildings or multiple town-houses depending on the zoning. No parts of Forrest Hill will be zoned for single dwellings.
The council acknowledges that private covenants override council zoning, meaning that multiple dwellings per lot are prohibited from being built in the Forrest Hill covenant area.
This change will likely result in more developers attempting to build in this area in violation of the Forrest Hill covenants, thus it is important residents of Becroft Drive, Longwood Pl, Grenada Ave, Pendene Pl, Trevone Pl, Kennedy Ave, Augusta Pl, Baltimore Pl, Lyttelton Ave, Wilmington Pl and Newport Pl have their say and oppose these changes.
