Local body Elections

Barry from Cockle Bay

If you are frustrated about getting problems solved in our community you need to read an article in today’s NZ Herald A10 John Rougham. Until democracy is returned to our local boards and council things will not change. Our local board has no power to achieve the results we need..
We need change , we need a mayor that will return democracy to the ratepayers. A Mayor that will open the books and bring public assets back under democratic control. Our local boards have no power to get the results we need. The Super City is a travesty of democracy.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
