Marshwood Montessori Pre-school recommendation by a parent.

Leonie from Marshwood Montessori Pre-school

Our two children attended Marshwood for a total of six very happy years, starting with just a couple of mornings each when they were young and building up to several days a week before they each started school. Before our daughter started at Marshwood we didn't know that much about Montessori education, but we were really struck by the lovely calm atmosphere at our initial visit and decided to give it a try, and we are so glad that we did. The staff at Marshwood have a genuine love for the children in their care, and are passionate about encouraging their individual interests (this included our son doing carpentry every day for weeks on end!). They also fostered a real sense of independence and acceptance of others. Our children both thrived there and loved going. They subsequently settled into mainstream school very smoothly, and still have the enthusiasm for learning and curiosity for life that was nurtured in them at Marshwood. We would not hesitate to recommend Marshwood as an excellent start to a lifelong journey of learning - we all miss it!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
