Claytons Inorganic Collection in Pt Chevalier

Tee from Point Chevalier

Did any fellow neighbours experience not having a 'reasonable' inorganic rubbish not taken away in the current Auckland Council inorganic collection?

This morning its collectors would not take away my partially dismantled trampoline 1.3mx2.7m; the reason being it exceeded the 1 cubic metre specification. Which I don't dispute much.

What I am not impressed is how the collection was carried out. The collectors came twice this morning; one team in a big truck with three men came around 8am, one man carrying an iPad to take pictures of my rubbish and record them in the iPad's database. Then around 10.30am, two teams in two separate big trucks and altogether six men came again. And again one man with the iPad did the same as in the last visit before taking away my rubbish, but not the dismantled trampoline.

What an overkill for such a simple operation, a waste of time and ratepayers' money, but delivering minimal service for the ratepayers (just lip service for the environment).

What does ANZAC day mean to you?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

ANZAC Day is a time to reflect, remember, and honour those who served.

It’s also a powerful reminder of the impact of war and the courage of those who stood for something greater than themselves.

We're interested to hear what ANZAC Day means to you and your whānau, and about any special traditions you follow each year.

Perhaps you have a loved one who served? If you feel comfortable, we’d love for you to share their story here with us.
