Seeking Habitat Curtain Bank Manager- We are hiring now!
We are looking for a Habitat Curtain Bank Manager.
The position has been established to manage and expand the Curtain Bank service.
Specifically, management of staff, building relationships with key sponsors/funders, exploring social enterprise solutions, sourcing donations, health & safety, financial management, reporting, and promotion of the service.
The overall aim of the Curtain Bank service is to provide low-income families with free curtains to make their homes warmer and drier whilst reducing the health impacts to whanau associated with cold and damp housing.
Specific Duties:
Management of Curtain Bank Staff (including timesheets, leave, performance reviews, professional development, health and safety).
Management of salesforce data (quality control, data cleansing, data management, providing reports).
Providing reports as required to funders and the Board.
Lead on the MRS/CB Operational Meetings with the Habitat Build Manager including setting agenda, writing minutes, ensuring Habitat Curtain Bank actions are completed and any other requirements.
Reviewing existing processes to look for efficiencies and implementing new processes and systems if necessary.
Exploring social enterprise opportunities.
Identifying and working with potential sponsors and funders to obtain long-term funding.
Negotiating with commercial providers to ensure mixed model of delivery.
Sourcing donated curtains and materials and building long-term relationships with key suppliers.
Ability to cut and sew curtains as required.
Promoting the service as required (presentations, videos, conferences, press releases etc).
To act as an ambassador for Habitat for Humanity and to uphold the ethos and values of the organisation.
Key Skills required:
Proficient computer skills including excellent knowledge of MS Office suite (word, PowerPoint and excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good at juggling tasks and prioritising
Organised with good attention to detail
Some prior knowledge/experience with commercial sewing operations, and/or commercial sewing experience preferred
Some prior knowledge/experience of a Curtain Bank service would be preferred but is not essential.
Experience or knowledge of Salesforce, our customer relationship management tool would be preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Flexibility to work 32 - 40 hours per week.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Think I was scammed today
Hi everyone just a warning that I think I got scammed today. Went in to buy an extension cord came out with 4 pillows 3 sheet sets. 6 new towels. A frying pan a toaster. A electric jug. Dinner plates knife fork and spoon set it seems like they put everything on special and made the lay out off the store so I had to walk past everything before I got to the product I went into buy.
