Dr Zaid Matti is a specialist in Musculoskeletal Medicine. He has a particular interest in Regenerative Medicine and Pain Management.
His practice Focus on Ultrasound-guided Platelets Rich Plasma PRP injections/steroids combined with multidisciplinary rehabilitation.
He has been practising Neuromuscular medicine and prolotherapy treatments since he started in general medical practice before specialising in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Zaid’s journey started with practising medicine in New Zealand over ten years ago. He had his post-graduate training in multiple hospitals across New Zealand. Over the years he completed further post-graduate study and qualifications in sports medicine, surgical anatomy and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
He served multiple orthopaedics surgical posts at many hospitals across New Zealand including Auckland Hospital, Starship Children Hospital, Middlemore hospital, Tauranga hospital, Waikato Hospital and North Shore Hospital.
He moved to the community-based medicine in 2015 when he worked in general practice and urgent care while taking the formal specialty training in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Zaid is passionate about the principle of Regenerative Musculoskeletal Medicine. This evolving field utilises cellular therapies called orthobiologics combined with precise delivery into musculoskeletal tissue under the guidance of ultrasound or X-Ray. He is a member of Interventional Orthopaedics Foundation, a leading organisation in this field. He is an active participant in the world-leading conferences in that field. He lectured in many international meetings about the principle and use of platelets rich plasma PRP as a cellular therapy for Musculoskeletal conditions. Zaid is an advocate for in promoting ethical research, marketing, and clinical application of orthobiologics. He is an active member of the Orthobiologics Ethics Consortium.
Dr Matti, other clinical interests include interventions in pain management, point of care ultrasound, and acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems in adults, particularly spinal, hip, knee and shoulder pain.
