How are you celebrating Te Wiki o te reo Māori?

Kia ora neighbours. To further celebrate Te Wiki o te reo Māori (Māori Language Week), Te Reo Tuatahi will soon be holding basic te reo lessons in partnership with Glenfield Mall . The launch is September 14, from 6pm till 7pm outside Michael Hill, and will include a kapa haka performance by Glenfield College and feature talks by guest speakers about revitalising and normalising te reo Māori. The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
