Yuccas and Dragon trees grow wild in native forest edges
In 2018 we started to notice yuccas growing wild in local native forest reserves. The ones we saw were either hidden among native trees or inaccessible down steep banks or cliffs. So when we saw these unfamiliar seedlings on the edge of the forest beside Kaipatiki Walkway along the estuarine shore, we suspected yucca.
Turned out they were not yucca ...

Plastic beach rubbish
Two recent emus on Takapuna beach. One lithium battery picked up from the edge of the deck of the Harbour Bridge during the recent Hikoi. My guess is the other half is sitting at the bottom of the Waitemata Harbour.
