Update on track development in Kauri Glen Reserve

Bob Lang from Kauri Glen Bush Society Inc

Disappointing news – the plan for the new track alignment from Kauri Glen Road to Tui Glen Road has been deferred because of contract tendering issues and we cannot expect a start, if at all, until next Summer. While major projects on other reserves, walking and cycle tracks on the North Shore proceed, work in Kauri Glen required to protect significant remnants of Kauri bush and to upgrade a major urban link, has continued to be deferred for various reasons.
In the meantime, it has proved impossible to restrict access along the existing track over kauri roots placing these magnificent trees at ongoing risk of kauri dieback. Remember, the only track not affected by closures is between Kauri Glen Road and Woodside Avenue with links to Lake Road and Gladstone Road that provides a pleasant walk.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
