Stay At Home - Don't Take Covid 19 as a JOKE.

Jitendriya from New Lynn

Kia Ora Everyone,

I am an essential services worker for last 3 days on my way to work n way back I was observing that we need to change our habits.

Life has changed quite a lot since last couple of months as Covid 19 originated.

We are feeling it for the last 3 days. Most of the people who are following the rules laid by government is a big achievement for all of us. These rules are for us n for our safety.

As a part of community worry for me n for you in coming days will be those people who are ignorant of the devastating effects of the virus n jumping around thinking they are immune. Sorry guys, noone is. It's just a matter of time.

I request these people not to stay outside or get in contact with other people outside their BUBBLE.

Just for a few weeks we have to do this...if we don't want to do it for too long.

If people who are healthy won't go for a walk or for bike ride, I don't think so it will harm them for couple of weeks. Possibly you can do some excercises at home..spend time with other family members.

I have seen kids playing outside touching so many things....can you think what this can lead to??

Suppose someone who was infected with this virus n have coughed or sneezed or touched those railings, n those innocent kids will get the virus if they are going to touch it. Just because of stupid parenting...this will then infect the whole family. n that's how it spread.

Scientists are still unsure how long this virus stays alive on different surfaces. Just for this reason, stay at home for some weeks so at least we all will break the chain. As this virus spreads quick and fast.

This will give a chance to the virus to die as it won't get in contact with anyone else.

We can do certain things:
*Only designate one person to go out to buy groceries.
*Give chance n space to people who need to walk outside due to health issues like diabetic;
*Stay local - meaning in your drive way or max in your street if it's to walk when;
*use all possible hygiene methods for yourself and in your home;
*obey the rules.

May be we don't know each other but we still need everyone...think practically..emotionally any which way you want.

n See the Big picture...We have to do it for our kids, our family, our community, our country n our world.

Please 🙏🙏🙏🙏.....please stay at home...stay safe..

We are in this together. we will fight it together.

God bless.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Jan from Te Atatu South

My Christmas tree lights controller exploded in a ball of flames last night, so please be careful, Ive had them for a few years. If I hadnt been in the room it would have been a fire.
