One man's passion for history has seen him drive a project to install or restore plaques on Auckland streets named after war heroes.
Milford resident Gavin Sheehan said he wanted to recognise eight soldiers from Takapuna, Milford and Forrest Hill on the North Shore who died in World War I and had streets commemorating them.
