Bookathon to boost reading launched next month
Blind Low Vision NZ is launching a bookathon to inspire children to get reading.
The Great Kiwi Bookathon is being rolled out in June to promote reading and to raise funds for people suffering from vision loss.
Registrations are now open for parents to sign up their children- and themselves- to read as many books as they can.
Participants are encouraged to seek sponsorship to raise funds for Blind Low Vision NZ.

Please Help New Zealand’s longest running cat café in Birkenhead stay open
My partner and I frequent Purrs & Beans cat cafe in Birkenhead alot. It's run by a lovely couple that do it primarily to help rescue cats. They both work full-time jobs to support the cafe, but because they have so many special needs cats they have had some massive vet bills in the last few years.
