Schools in lockdown
Two South Auckland schools in Auckland are in lockdown on Monday morning.
Both were Muslim schools Al-Madinah and Zayed College For Girls on Westney Rd in Māngere declared a lockdown at about 8.30am.
Facebook page for Muslims in New Zealand posted: 'There are no students on-site. Currently we have Police present at the school.
School will remain closed for today.'
The lockdown comes after reports of threatening emails being sent to students and staff.
Police remain at Al Madinah School and inquiries are underway to determine “the circumstances surrounding the email”.
